The much-waited 2008 Lancer Sedan by Mitsubishi Motors Company was launched after skipping the year 2007 models. This 4-door compact Sedan has got a totally new look for the current year. The 2008 Lancer Parts are the best in the market. The exterior body of all the models have been re-styled, with much more aggressive fascia and a wedgier profile that looks pretty sharp from some angles. But however the overall proportions of the exterior set up are balanced with a positive input. The 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer is an economy car and not at all Mitsubishi's flagship.

Trims and Engines

The 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer is available in three different trims- DE, ES and GTS. Only one engine configuration is available for all the models- is it the base model or the top line. The models get power from a 152-hp four-cylinder engine. Horsepower is up by 32, torque by 16 pound-feet of torque as compared to the earlier models. The engine can be mated with either five-speed manual transmission or optional CVT automatic, a continuously variable transmission. This powerful engine gives lower fuel economy ratings both in the city and the highway. The 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer has gained some 200 to 400 pound of extra weight depending upon the trim and model over the 2006 line-up.

Eye Catching Interior

The four-door Sedan's roomy cabin can comfortably accommodate five passengers. The instruments and dash board are quite pleasing to the eye and at the same time friendly to the fingers, with knobs and switches that are very easy to use for the more important functions. The DE is the base model and it has got very less standard features. No air conditioning is there in the base model but however, the heater comes with micron filtration. Shift knob and tilt steering wheel are wrapped in urethane. The audio system is a four-speaker, 140-watt AM/FM/CD/MP3 unit, but it comes with DSP and vehicle speed-compensated volume and equalization and pre-wiring for Sirius satellite radio. While the windows and outside mirrors are powered, the door locks are not. Safety features in all the trims include seven airbags with a driver's knee airbag apart from the normal front airbags, front seatbelt with pre-tensionsers and force limiters, child safety seat anchors and tethers (LATCH), anti lock brakes and tire pressure monitors.

Lancer ES model review

The ES model is well equipped with air conditioning, cruise control with beautiful steering wheel-mounted controls, key-less remote power door locks, six-way adjustable driver seat, front map lights, premium fabric upholstery, silver interior accents, and steering wheel-mounted redundant audio controls and pre-wired Bluetooth switch. The Sun & Sound package in the model come with a 650-watt, nine-speaker, Rockford-Fosgate premium audio system along with a six-month pre-paid subscription of Sirius satellite radio and many other interesting features.

Lancer GTS model review

The GTS, the top line model of the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer comes with standard automatic climate control. The steering wheel and shift knobs are elegantly wrapped in leather. Driver and front passenger are accented with sport bucket seats covered in stylish fabric surfaces. An aero package that comes with front air dam, lower side air dams and rear spoiler gives a new look to the exterior segment. The Sun & Sound package is optional in this trim. The Navigation & Technology package has a GPS-based navigation system that stores up the valuable mapping data on a 30GB hard disk drive.

When it comes to Mitsubishi Lancer's performance, there is no other better Sedan than this. Surely, the 2008 Lancer Sedan is going to change the face of four-door compact Sedan.
